Brand image with whom? Sure, the internet forum regulars will grump up a storm, but they grumble about almost anything (and frequently are most vocal about games they hate on principle and would never have bought anyway).
Most games consumers won't ever be in a position to hear the likes of Kramez holding forth. Which suggests to me he's not really doing it for their benefit.
